Pinehurst is a census-designated place (CDP) in Montgomery County, Texas, United States. The population was 4,624 at the 2010 census.

A post office was first established in the area in 1860 under the name, "Prairie Home." In 1871, its name was changed to Hunter's Retreat. In 1904, after the railroad was built, the town's name was changed to Pinehurst.

As of the 2015 American Community Survey, The median income for a household in the CDP was $46,690, and the median income for a family was $51,817. Males had a median income of $35,344 versus $15,380 for females. The per capita income for the CDP was $20,124.
